Sick again

Our poor baby girl is sick again :( This week she has the stomach flu. And she has been "hiccuping"  aka throwing up quite frequently. She will grab her bucket and tell us she  has to "hiccup".  So far, she has been making it to her bucket just in time except for the one time where she knew what was going on but mom was a bit too slow. We have been cuddling on the couch all night. And just when we think that she is doing better, boom...its right back again. Thankfully, Grandma and Grandpa took Christian for the night so hopefully he doesn't get it.
I'm so done with winter and all these illnesses. And tonight we have warnings for -30 degree weather. I'm ready for spring any day now!

Frustration

That moment when you are making corrections on your essay and you have not saved your paper in awhile and the computer freezes.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

And then....

Yup, basically sums up my night.  Now that I have RE-revised my paper, I'm going to relax!  And watch the weather to see if 2 snow days in a row are likely for Christian :)

Snow Fun

Our Sunday morning consisted of breakfast, coffee drinking, cartoons, and some outdoor snow fun!  We do not have very much snow but it was enough to get the kids outdoors to wear off some energy. And what do we do in Wisconsin when we have spring fever????? We act like it is spring...

After nap time, we finally used the art easel to paint.  Surprisingly it was not messy at all and we will definitely start doing lots more painting around here!

The kids were so impressed with their art work. They put lots of time and effort into their cute projects.  And in the meantime, mom was able to complete an order for a Minnie Mouse Tutu for a friend who is going to Disney soon!  I can't wait to see pictures of a pretty little girl all dressed for the occasion to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse :)

Lazy Friday

We had a fairly uneventful day yesterday.  Bryan had doctors appointments at the VA so it was just me and the kiddos for the day.  I had lots of studying to do so we decided to make a trip to the library so that we could have the best of both worlds: Mommy could study while the kiddos played!  Well, unfortunately, that only lasted for about 5 minutes because as soon we got there, Bryleigh had an accident and we had to go right back home.  I was so frustrated because she has not had any accidents in months and she actually stared at me while she was doing it, exactly how she used to do it when we were attempting to potty train her (ya know, the look that says, I'm going to poop in my pants just because you don't want me to! lol)  But I soon had to remind myself that she has been sick this week and maybe she couldn't help it.  Either way,  we came home, had lunch and the kids took nap which gave me lots of time to study and get started on my paper.

Friday evening was spent at the in laws watching movies and eating popcorn...

Today was back to the daily grind with school starting again :(  As much as I wanted to stay home in bed when my alarm went off at 5 this morning, I have to admit that my class is actually very interesting and so far, my professor seems much more engaging and interactive than my past professor!  And to think, only 8 more weeks and this class will be completed and we will be on our way to sunny Mexico!

Welcome Gavin James

Gavin James Wallin arrived on January 23, 2013 at 6:56pm.  He weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces and is 20 inches of sweet baby boy :) Although it didn't work out for me to be able to meet him yesterday as hoped, I will definitely be meeting him this coming week :)  I need a baby fix!

I received some very cute pictures via text though...

Between sweet baby Gavin and my adorable niece, I'm really wanting a baby these days!

Well, Lord, I'm hoping you let this phase pass soon because we all know that the hubby will not be agreeing to that anytime soon!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above...James 1:17

On the Up and Up

Bryleigh is finally starting to feel better.  She had a tummy ache all night last night and the poor girl felt so bad for having a few accidents which is very unlike her since she has been potty trained.  But she appears to be doing better today!  She has been doing a lot of resting and napping lately which I think has helped.  She has looked so sweet and innocent the past few days but I don't like to see her miserable.

Bryan is still on the mend also. And thankfully, Christian and I have been feeling good.  On an exciting note,  my best friend is currently in labor and we should be expecting sweet Gavin by the end of the day :) I'm so excited to hear the awesome news!  I'll be sure to have lots of pictures to update on tomorrow!

Not So Lucky

Everyday when I log onto Facebook, I see another one of my friend's and/or their children coming down with the flu. Well I was crossing my fingers and saying a few prayers that my family would stay healthy. But unfortunately we have not been able to elude the dreaded sickness.  Bryleigh has been down for the count since yesterday afternoon. She has been running a 102 fever and she hasn't eaten anything since yesterday morning. But what I can be thankful for is that she is in a fairly good mood, still laughing and joking around, and as a bonus, she is Ms. Cuddle Bug :) I don't think she has the flu but some type of respiratory bug. And Bryan is just as miserable.

Christian, on the other hand, is doing just fine and I'm only miserable at night when I can't sleep due to congestion.  I'm hoping for a quick recovery for my two Bry's and not the 2 week sickness that most people are talking about!

I was even able to get lots of studying done while I was cuddling!  A double bonus :) Now if only the weather will warm up a little bit because this -35 weather is WAY to cold for my comfort!

Here is a project I completed after the kids went to bed tonight... and infant tutu dress and matching headband!  My favorite colors and it turned out so cute :)

Now time to go warm up in bed!

Our Weekend Getaway

Since this is my last weekend of Winter Break and will be until our vacation in March, we decided to take a trip to Minnesota.  We usually take a trip to Mall of America about once a year and since we just went to the Dells a few months ago,  this was our destination of choice.  We left Friday morning and although it had snowed the night prior,  the roads were plowed well enough to make the trip. Our friends, Travis and Tammy, and their 3 kiddos, Chloe, Carley, and Wyatt, joined.

The kids were a tad bit excited (and wild)!

We made our first stop at the much anticipated, Lego Land! While the boys and older girls had fun building, Bryleigh was playing on her "Teddy Bear" aka Travis!

The adults were even able to get a little too much  shopping in as well!  The kids were so well behaved  and  they even found some entertainment as they tagged along!

On Saturday afternoon, we enjoyed Nickelodeon Universe and went on a few rides. Since the lines were so long, we didn't make it on as many as we would have liked but that just means that we have left over tickets for the next time we head to MOA.

We ate lots of good food too! This was our first time at Kokomo's Island Cafe and the dining experience was fun!  It made me excited to be heading to Mexico in a few short months :)

But I think we all had the most fun back at the hotel, swimming!  Sometimes just being at a place to sleep that isn't Home is the best part :)

I'm so glad that I was able to de-stress a little bit before diving right back into work and school again this week!  We had a blast with our friends! Now if only we can keep this sickness to a minimum as we all have a respiratory sickness coming on :(
