Nature's Beauty

Tonight I was able to take a step back from our everyday busy schedule to enjoy God's creation! There is nothing better than walks around the lake at sunset!

God is good!

Our weekend

We were finally able to get our storage pods unpacked this weekend.  Although I may not be able to find anything, at least it is in the house and we can get the storage containers removed from our driveway!  Little by little, we are on our way to moving in to our new home!

After a long day of unpacking, we decided to take the kids to the pool to cool off, but the pool we usually go to changed their rules and we are no longer allowed to swim there due to not being a mill employee :( We had 2 unhappy kiddos so we tried to make amends by going to the beach for a little while!

Christian had fun building a moat...

While Bryleigh turned into a Mermaid!!!

After swimming, Aunt Katie decided that it was a good night for camping! There is nothing like a little camping fun...in the backyard!  A tent, wheelbarrow fire, and smores makes for 2 happy kiddos!

This momma didn't sleep very well because I was worried about my babies in the tent but they had a blast and did awesome without me (Sniffle, Sniffle)

This morning, I had Bryan's cousin's wedding shower! It was a lot of fun with a lot of great food! We can't wait for your wedding Stacy and Eric!

It was certainly another busy weekend but a great way to spend my last free Saturday for a while.  Next Saturday marks the start of my 4th and final year of grad school! I can do this! (That's what I keep telling myself :)

Summer fun/Remodeling

We had so much fun last weekend spending the day out at my brother in law's parents home on the lake!

Summer is flying by but at least we are finding time to enjoy the weather in between doing home remodeling projects! I can't wait to be in our new home soon!

Our days are fun but exhausting. Even Boo thinks so :)

Randoms

Our long summer days are finally catching up with Bryleigh girl!  The funniest part is that as soon as I took the picture she opened her eyes and said, "I want to see the picture."  Bryan says that I have them so trained to take pictures that they even know when they are sleeping!  lol

Our little Boo Bear!  We just love her so much!

This is a horrible mom confession (please don't judge). We took Christian's cousin to the aquatic center with us for Christian's birthday. His mom sent along 110 spf sunscreen to use on him. It was spray on sunscreen so I sprayed him down with his sunscreen and then I sprayed my kids, who never burn, with our spf 30 sunscreen. Well I received this text later in the evening from his mom, "You are supposed to rub in the sunscreen after you spray it on!"

Poor kid had a burn everywhere besides my little spray line.  I felt like the worst mother ever!  I would have never known that you had to run in spray on sunscreen. Take that as a lesson learned fellow mom's, ALWAYS read the sunscreen bottle because apparently they are all different!

Make Work Fun

My job can hardly be considered work. I love my coworkers, the families that I work with, and the job that I do. I couldn't ask for a more fun group of people to spend my days outside of my home with!!!

This past week, we decided to dedicate July 15 as Rochelle day by wearing pink!  We hope Rochelle enjoyed her special day!

Now I'm just waiting for my special day :)

Our New Home

What a whirlwind of a week it has been. My days all seem to be running together now! After lots of nail biting, a bit of frustration, and some quick work on the bank's part, we were able to close on our home late last Friday. There were about 3 times during that day that we were told that it was most likely not going to go through and we would have to wait until this week.  I think all of my nails were chewed off by the end of the day. All I wanted was to be able to spend my weekend painting since I only have a few more free weekends before I start school again. But it all worked out and we officially got the keys on Friday evening!

We got started painting on Saturday morning and spent the next two days painting into the early morning hours. What started as only painting a few rooms turned into paining the majority of the house. I had big plans to color match most of the homes colors but unfortunately it did not work out as planned so each of the colors was just a bit different then the wall colors which resulted in us paining all of the rooms we only planned to do touch up's on. All of the paining is finally done (for now!) and I'm loving it, but at painting time, I was not a big fan :)

After the painting was accomplished, the demolition began! We are completely gutting the kitchen and starting from scratch. We are making a new wall to make the kitchen larger and opening up a doorway to allow it to flow into the dining room.. Our cabinets are currently being built! We are also redoing the master bathroom too! I can't wait to until all of the remodeling is done and we get to enjoy the finished products!

I thought painting was bad but then I had the wonderful task of removing wall paper from the kitchn walls. Talk about a big pain in the butt. I hope I never have to look at wall paper again!  Good thing I had good wall paper rippers and scrapers to help me out!

We are making good progress and hopefully this week the contractor can get in to start the fun work!

I'm loving that the kids are so excited to get into our new home that they cannot stop talking about it! We also have awesome neighbors with young kids that  Christian and Bryleigh get along great with. We are very sad that they are actually renting and the house finally sold so we only have 1 more month with them :(

Our task this weekend is to get our pods unloaded and start organizing (As much as we can with all of the remodeling going on!)

Happy 8th Birthday Christian!

This boy made me the happiest person alive 8 years ago today.  I became a mom to the most handsome, caring, and fun boy!  I"m so thankful that God gave us you!  Happy 8th birthday Christian!  We love you so much!

We celebrated another year of life for this young man by going to the Weston Aquatic Center!  We had perfect weather and it was such a fun place to spend the day.  A picnic lunch, lots of swimming, dinner, and frozen yogurt makes for a very happy birthday boy!

We had quite the sleepy silly group of kids on the drive home! I would say that it was a successful birthday celebration day!
