House Update

Well, it has been a few weeks since I updated. Life is not slowing down so I just don't seem to find the time to write a post. I'm sitting down to complete my Midterm Essay Exam and thought I would post an update. The big news is...we accepted an offer on our home and close in April!  AHHHH!  I can't believe that this process went so quick.  We put our house up for sale on a Friday at 9am, we had our first showing at 2:30pm, and by 5:00pm we had a very good offer on our home.  By the end of the weekend, we had about 10 showings and 2 more offers came in. After considering all 3 offers and countering the potential buyers on small details, we accepted an offer the following Thursday. The whole process from start to finish only took us 7 days.  I know the Lord has a plan for us because this certainly was not the plan I had in mind.  My thought was that we would put the house up for sale, and while we waited for it to sell, we would keep searching for and hopefully find our dream home.  Well, that is certainly not how this story unfolded!

So now we plan to live with my in law's until we find a home if we have not found anything we love before we close. While I do not want to get my hopes up too high, we are looking at a potential house for the 3rd time tonight so we will see where it leads us!

So that is the official update, stay tuned...!

Disney Frozen on Ice

This past weekend was all about our Bryleigh girl!  It was her birthday present weekend.  While Christian spent the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa, Bryleigh came with Bryan and I to Madison on Saturday. After I was finished with class, we made the trip to Chicago to see Disney Frozen on Ice.  I am a small town girl at heart so I was very worried about going to downtown Chicago. But we made it safely and checked into our hotel.  We walked to a nearby pizza place, Giordano's, which had amazing stuffed pizza. And we ended the night with swimming, watching movies, and cuddling!

We knew the snow was headed our way but we didn't realize the extent of the blizzard until we woke up on Sunday morning.  Elsa sure knows how to make it snow and the only person liking Elsa on Sunday was Bryleigh :) She couldn't wait to get to the show!

The show was amazing!  Bryleigh loved it and so did we!  Bryleigh was one happy girl with her Frozen wand and popcorn that we paid a pretty penny for!  lol.  I'm so glad that we made it to the show but I was not excited about the drive home.

As it turns out, we should have never left Chicago  I had the "not so bright" idea of trying to make it out of Chicago before the storm got really bad. Well, we just got stuck in the middle of it.  It took us 4.5 hours just to get out of Illinois. Then we thought about stopping for the night but by the time we got to Madison, the roads started looking better so we proceeded home. Poor Bryleigh girl did so well on the LONG drive home. The good lord was looking out for us on those horrible roads and I'm so thankful that we made it home safely.

And as it turns out, it was a good thing we were gone all weekend because we had showings at our house all day Saturday and Sunday so we would have had to been out of the house anyways. We now have 3 offers on the table that we are working with so it looks like we will be moving a little sooner than we had hoped.  Since we are not just going to "settle" on a home, it looks like we will be living with my in law's for a little while! I'm so thankful we have such supportive family that is there to always help us out. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this very stressful time we are heading into!
