Happy Halloween

A Happy Halloween it was!  A day of great laughs, costumes, and fun!  This is the first time since junior high that I dressed up for Halloween!  Us, Social Workers, dressed up as witches today!

We also had the Gilligan's Island Crew!

And Bat Girl and a "Geisha"  as we joked about!

It was one of those days that just goes back fast because everyone is having fun!

After I got home from work, we went to my mom's work for our yearly trick or treating round!

We proceeded to "show off" the kids to all the grand parents!  Oh how I love my little fire fighter and peacock :)

Then we headed down town for some trick or treating! We had quite the group this year.  A fire fighter, peacock, Monster High Doll, a Ghost Buster, and 2 transformers!

Denali
Ghost Buster
Phoenix made one cute ghost buster but you can't see the whole costume here so this was taken at my mom's work!

I just can't get enough of her cute little feathers :)

Jenna and Carson
A fun day to be had by all!  And right before bed I got the question, "Do we get to go trick or treating again tomorrow?"  Oh how glad I am that this is only once a year,  mom would sure put on the pounds otherwise!

Child of God

Today we celebrated one of God's most precious gifts, Baptism. Our friend Andy's son and Jenna's soon to be step son, Landon was welcomed into God's family today!  What a great day to celebrate with family and friends!

We had a great day with lots of friends, fun, and food!  Bryleigh got to the cake before we could take pictures and although a quick "NO" was attempted, it didn't stop her!  But as you can tell from the pictures to follow, she did feel guilty!

And in the end,   all of the kids ended up sticking their fingers in the frosting! Such a fun day to be had by all!  Now the kids are in bed after a long day with no naps!

Congrats Landon!  We are so happy that we could share this special day with you!

Dress Fitting and Lazy Day

On Friday, I made the trip to Eau Claire with my mother, 2 children, and 2 nieces in tow! And I survived :)  All of the kids did really well.  We only had a tiny meltdown at lunch time when Christian started getting really tired.

Both the girls, fell asleep on the trip there.

Her poor chapped cheeks :(

And Christian played Bitty Baby with Nali!  Shhh...don't tell Bryan!  He was playing with the boy doll though!

My dress fitting went well and I was even excited when my size 12 dress (the size that they told me I needed and that I was almost in tears over :) was too big!  So not only did I need more than a foot taken off the bottom, I was able to take a couple inches in on the sides also.  I was grinning ear to ear until I found out my total!  $125.  I almost fainted!  So my dress was $120 and somehow the alterations cost more than the dress!?!  Wouldn't it have been better to order me another dress in the correct size?  Oh well,  the things I wouldn't do (and pay) for my best friend, Jenna!  The dress is beautiful though!  Great color choice,  eggplant!

We made a stop at the mall to let the kids get some play time in.

Then today,  we didn't get our of our jammies until almost noon!  I did some painting and some laundry...

Okay, I didn't really dry Bryleigh but it was quite hilarious when I'm calling her name because I couldn't find her and then I hear a little giggle and find her in the dryer!

Now the kids are in bed and I'm going snuggle with the hubby and watch "The Bad Teacher" and enjoy some pumpkin pie that I baked today!

Boys will be Boys

Tonight, we had the joy of watching Carson while Jenna and Andy completed baptism classes at church.  Christian and Bryleigh always have a great time when Carson comes to play!  Its funny to think that Christian and Carson are just over a year apart and when Carson was first born, it seemed like such an age gap but now that they are a tad bit older, they are best buds :)

We had already planned to have dinner at the in laws so we brought Carson along! Pizza Casserole and German chocolate cake!  Bryleigh sure liked the cake tonight!

And Grandpa became the jungle gym like usual...

Tomorrow I will need all of the thoughts and prayers I can get because I will be heading to Eau Claire for my dress fitting with 4 kids in tow...Christian, Bryleigh and my two nieces.  I guess that's what I get for scheduling my dress fitting on a day that there is no school!  At least I have my mother along for support :)

Change of Plans

I have had plans for a couple of weeks now to go to dinner with my college friends! I have two great friends from my college years and even though we live close by, with family's and jobs, we only get to catch up a couple times a year.  So I was very excited that after over a year of not seeing each other, we finally made plans.  We had a great dinner at Hilltop in Stevens Point!  I wish had got some pictures but I forgot my camera.  But here is a great memory with my one sweet friend, Michelle, from our graduation in 2008...

And my other sweet friend, Becky, whom we all thought would never settle down is now engaged and I'm so happy for her.  So come, September 29, 2011, we are going to have so much fun at her wedding!  I love catching up from the college days,  brings back great memories :)

Speaking of weddings...

Jenna and Andy's wedding is coming up real quick...and they got a call yesterday that the Ramada Inn is closing effective Oct. 31 and they will need to find a new venue for their wedding.  Wait, what?  Do they realize that the wedding is a month away? So luckily, its Thanksgiving weekend and most people are not getting married on a holiday weekend, so they were able to book the Hotel Mead within a couple of hours!  Phewww!  And then she texts me and says, "I promise to not turn into a bridezilla."  I was thinking that if this was me, I would have turning into one!

I feel bad for the couples that had planned their wedding there for the first 2 weekends in November,  at least Jenna has time to send out a postcard with the changes.

Bryan started work last week at the marsh and he has been complaining of knee pain so he went in and it turns out that he has a torn ligament in his knee, so it looks like he will be back to watching the kids instead of the marsh work until he heals up.  I feel for him because I know he enjoys the kids but he also likes to get out and do some real "man" work like he calls it!  Wish me luck,  men are definitely big babies when it comes to pain ;)

But aren't they just the cutest?

Jenna's Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party

As expected, Saturday was a busy but very fun day! The kids hung with Grandma and Grandpa for the night while Bryan worked all weekend and I hung with the girls.

Jenna's shower was fun but we did have some minor complications.  Miss Clumsy that I am, dropped a pan of cheesecake just as everyone was arriving for the shower and the Pyrex pan shattered everywhere!  So not only did we have to work with only having 1 pan of cheesecake but then I cut my hand trying to pick up the glass.  But I didn't feel as bad when another bridesmaid, Lesley, dropped another 2 pieces of cheesecake on the floor :)  It was a tragedy at the time but now we can laugh about it!  Everyone that wanted a piece of cheesecake was able to and we even had a few pieces left over.  Phewww!

After the shower, we quickly cleaned up for several reasons!  For one, it was 80 degrees at the hall and we were dying of heat and for two we needed to head back to the house to make our Bridal Party Shirts before our ride arrived!

Love the penis banner!

We all chipped in and rented a 14 passenger van for the night so we picked all the girls up and then went to Evergreen Lanes for some bowling!
