Monday Returns!

So Monday rolled around again this morning and I sure wasn't ready for it.  I loved having the past 4 days off with my family.  I always get up at 5 in the morning and then I get some time to myself to go on the computer and watch the news in the morning before I have to leave and this morning the Christmas Tree was on and it made me just want to crawl up with the kiddos and watch cartoons.  But I had to go to work:(

It did end up being a good day!  I received a compliment from my supervisor today on how well I handled a difficult family interaction last week.  Its always nice to hear positive feedback!  I am very fortunate to have such a great job!  I left my past job after I had Bryleigh and was fortunate to be able to stay at home with the kids while I job searched and when I was offered this part time position, it was definitely a blessing for me!  I couldn't be more thankful and after all the praying I did, I am finally in the right place!  I still have days that I am sad that I can't stay at home with the kids but I just keep telling myself that they are in good hands with their Daddy and I will be home soon!

I hope everyone had a great Monday!  Make sure to check out all the Cyber Monday deals :)

Movie Time!

We had a pretty lazy morning today!  I love this time of year and since we have our Christmas Tree up already, its even better to just lounge around with the kids in the morning with the Tree all lit up!  Its my favorite! I just wish I could leave our tree up all year:)

My in laws called this morning and asked if we wanted to take Christian to the movie "Megamind."  So Bryan's Grandma came over to watch Bryleigh while we took Christian to the movies.  We have taken Christian to the movies two other times but this time did not go so well.  The movie did not keep his interest and he kept talking and whining to go home.  The people around us were probably not too happy but to side with Christian, it really didn't have my interest either.  Bryleigh did great for Grandma though, we laid her down for her nap before we left and she woke up as soon as we walked in the door. Christian took his nap when we got home and I was able to get some present wrapping done!  Then my mom and I went to church, and it was a great service to start out advent!

Here are some pictures from the movies and just lounging at home!

Bryleigh loves her food!

Black Friday

I have never been a black Friday shopper until a couple of years ago when I had to experience the madness and was quite impressed with the excitement and the great deals!  I usually get a lot of Christmas shopping done on this day but this year I had everyone on my list completed already.  I know its hard to believe but I have been buying item since June when I would see good sales.  So this year, I didn't really find anything in the flyer's that I absolutely needed.  So no early morning shopping for me this year.

I did end up going to Sears and Walmart a little later in the morning and there was still quite a few big ticket items left which surprised me.  We also went to Stevens Point and hit up Fleet Farm, Target, and Best Buy and the lines were quite long even in the afternoon.  We did find a snow blower on sale at Sears which we are going to go pick up tomorrow!  I told Bryan that this could be our birthday and Christmas presents to each other this year because we do need one. Bryan's Dad did give us his old snow blower a couple years ago and its worked well but its just not good for the wet, heavy snow, so we figured now is as good a year as any to get one! I have also been searching for a laptop because mine crashed a couple of weeks ago but I didn't find any amazing deals on a Dell (I loved my old dell so I want another one!)  My last laptop lasted me 6 years so I can't complain but it will be nice to get a new one soon.

Snow blower that we are going to get

The rest of our afternoon was pretty low key.  We promised Christian that we would take him downtown to the Christmas Decoration Lighting so we got the kids all bundled up and headed down there.  As soon as we got the stroller unloaded and Bryleigh out of the car, she started crying.  I tried holding her and everything and nothing would calm her.  We ended up having to leave and then we had one unhappy little boy.  I felt so bad because Christian was so excited.  So we ended up going to the in laws and hanging out there all night.  Christian really enjoyed it and had a great time hanging with Grandma and Grandpa.  It feels like it is Sunday due to the holiday but I'm very happy that we have 2 more days to relax together as a family!  It will probably be a laid back next couple of days, which I love :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today was a great Thanksgiving for our family!  We started out the morning by going to my Grandparents house.  We had a very wonderful, delicious lunch thanks to my Grandma and Mom!  Our family get together's with my side of the family are usually small because we don't have a large family but it is so nice to get to see everyone together at the same time.  We had some fun discussions and the kids played together.

Me and my family!

My sister, Katie, and her family!

Then in the early afternoon we headed over to Bryan's uncle's for his Thanksgiving.  And again, there was great food!  I think I gained 5 pounds today with all of the food that we ate!  That is one thing that our family get together's never lack: food!  We spend the rest of the afternoon and evening watching football, looking at sales flyers, and chit chatting! Bryleigh also learned how to crawl down the stairs by herself tonight!  She was quite the pro, by the end of the night! By the time we headed for home, the kids were definitely ready for bed!  Christian did not get a nap in today so he was starting to get pretty cranky!

I sure do have so many things to be thankful for!  Here are just a few:

Family:  I have such a wonderful, loving husband.  We have such a great relationship and he is my best friend.  We also have the 2 most fun loving, happy children!  Their personalities are each unique and they have really brought so much joy into our lives.  I also have such a supportive family and I couldn't have asked to marry into a better family!

Friends:  I have a select few best friends and although I do not get to see them all that often, I know that they are there for me whenever I may need them!

Job:  For awhile there I thought that I may never find a job that I would be happy with and I have finally found an awesome job.  I love the people I work with and I love the position I am in.  I enjoy watching the residents gain their independence and improve, it is so rewarding.  I also have the best of both worlds, I get to work part time but I also get to spend the majority of my time with the kids.

Home:  We have been very blessed with a beautiful home!  In the 3 years that we have owned our home, we have made it ours and are continually making improvements!  So many memories have happened here!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

And so it begins...

Well, here I am, writing a blog!  Never thought I would be doing this.  I sure have to say that I love to read my friends blogs and thought to myself a couple weeks ago, I would love to start one but would I have time?  And I have decided, I will make time.  I love that I will be able to document what our family has been doing and our children's big milestones through writing.  It will be sort of our timeline, you could say!  Our family life isn't always the most exciting but its our life and we love it!  Welcome, and follow along on our journey!
