Smoothies, Shopping, and Bows

To finish off the day yesterday,  I made smoothies for all of us! Smoothies and yogurt with Granola are two of the things I have been craving lately.  So this weekend, we had both!  The kids sure enjoy the smoothies and poor Bryleigh got her first "cold headache."   Poor little thing,  she put her head down on the floor and just started screaming for about a minute.

Christian loving his smoothie!

This was before the cold headache!

Today my mom and I decided to take a last minute shopping trip!  I never get out with just my mom.  I usually have at least 1 child in tow but Bryan offered to stay home with both of our sick kiddos while I spend the day with mom.  It was a fun day!

We stopped at Michael's along the way and I just couldn't pass up the flower and ribbon isle.  And the flowers were 50% off so I stocked up.  I also found some ribbon on sale to match some of Bryleigh's summer outfits.  So when I got home,  I had an idea in my head and I went with it.  The end result:

So now Bryleigh has a cute little monkey bow to go with her monkey outfit!  And I can't wait to start on the bows for her other cute outfits.  I have many projects to accomplish in the next couple weeks.  Now if only we all start feeling better.  I think its off to the doctor once again tomorrow for the kids.  I think they should start paying us for how often we give them business :)

Early Morning

This morning I could not sleep at all. I ended up getting up at 6:00 after Bryleigh gave me a wake up call.  But of course, she went back to sleep.  So I got up and headed to Younkers for our Community Day Sale.
I mostly went for the luggage that was on sale.  I got The 30" and 27" bags for $20/piece.  I was excited because now we won't have to worry about borrowing bags from anyone!  I also got a Packers Superbowl shirt for myself!  My husband will be proud now!  I have never owned a Packer clothing item and I think his side of the family has sort of disowned me on Packer game days :)

The rest of the morning, so far, has been tough to say the least! We are all still trying to get over this cold/sinus infection thing.  I'm thinking that I may have to take Christian and Bryleigh to the doctor on Monday because Christian won't get rid of his cough and Bryleigh is just miserable with her runny nose and eyes!  So we are still doing a lot of cuddling/whining!

Isn't it nice how kids can still look so cute when they are sick!  I sure don't look this cute when I'm sick!

Daydreaming

In light of my crazy busy work week!  And its an understatement to just say busy,  I have been thinking more and more about our upcoming trip to Mexico!  These thoughts just won't escape my brain right now!

But then I keep coming back to these little faces....

And I know I'm going to miss them like crazy!!!!!  I already miss them thinking about it!  But it will be nice for Bryan and I to finally have a honeymoon!

But until them....I'll keep daydreaming!

Mini Me

As expected, we had a very laid back weekend.  We hung out at home, just the 4 of us, except for the one outing to go to eat with the inlaws, which is always fun.  I've noticed more and more lately that Bryleigh loves to copy everything that I do and I love it! Bryan keeps telling me that she is going to be a little tom boy so I keep hoping that if I "girly" her up enough, that she will let me keep putting her in little dresses and bows.

I always have hairbands on my wrist for the times that I just can't stand my hair any longer and then I throw it in a pony tail.  Well I caught Bryleigh digging in my drawer this morning and caught her putting some on too!

Christian laid in bed most of the day and watched cartoons!  And I, of course, was the typical mom, waiting on him hand and foot.  Bryan said it was a little too much but I remember when my mom used to do it for me!

And Bryleigh, later on, got her hands on the wipes and I just have to share because her faces are priceless.

And of course, I have to show you her moves again!

And after our blissful weather that we had this past week of 40-50 degree weather, we are now back to the winter wonderland and expected to get 7-11 inches of snow today.  So we are, again, going to hang out inside today!

Stay warm today!

Parents Night Out

Thanks to my wonderful husband, I was able to sleep in this morning.  Its amazing how in high school sleeping in was at least until noon and now I'm happy being able to sleep in till 8:30.    I spent the rest of the day playing with my kiddos, along with sneaking in a workout and tanning session!  I couldn't have asked for a better day.  Then Bryan and I went out for date night while our cousin, Lindsey, watched the kids.  We went to eat at El Mezcal (one of my fav's) and then to the movies to see "Just Go With It."  It was definitely worth seeing.  I laughed so hard throughout the whole movie!  Here is the trailer:

We just got home a little while ago and all was quiet!  Although, we were informed that Christian through a large fit when it was bedtime, but this could be from his lack of a nap today.  I have heard him coughing in his sleep so I think the poor guy is getting what Bryleigh and I have. At least its the start of the weekend and we can just relax for the next couple of days if need be!

Monthly Illness

I'm very happy that we went several weeks without sickness in our household but I'm sad to say, it has returned. I have had a cold/flu going on the past couple of days and we took Bryleigh to the doctor today and along with a cold, she has pink eye.  So needless to say we have been doing a little bit of this:

Eating a little bit of this:

Using a whole lot of this:

And of course, spending lots of time doing this:

So wish us luck the rest of the week and hopefully we are up and at em' by the weekend!

The Day of Love

Happy Valentine's Day!  What a great day to tell the people around you how much they mean to you! Bryan and I didn't do anything "special" for Valentine's Day but I couldn't think of a better way to spend it then with my 3 favorite people: the hubby and our two lovely children!

Today I was very emotional.  Some of you may not understand but today was a major milestone for Bryleigh and I!  I believe she is officially weaned from nursing!  My little girl no longer needs that nursing bond and I, on the other hand, had a hard time with that this morning.  I have slowly been cutting out feedings since shortly after she turned a year and she was down to 1 time in the morning.  And she didn't wake up at all last night!  Which is wonderful, but difficult for me all the same.  But now it is time to replace nursing with lots of cuddling and rocking and I'm okay with that too.  It will also be a LOT easier when Bryan and I go to Mexico in early April!

Now on to the funny stuff!  Bryleigh has learned quite the dance moves lately and when we were at the mall this past weekend, she was walking and stopped in front of Hollister and was dancing and head bopping and it was the cutest!  Many onlookers were giggling to themselves and when we headed into a store awhile later, someone commented, "there's the dancing baby."  So I attempted to get some video of her dancing tonight, so if combine the videos together, then you can get an idea of her great dance moves!

She was eating a cracker in this video.  And sorry about the bad camera skills, I still have a lot to learn!

(Don't worry, I do have sympathy for my son when he hurts himself but I mean he was spinning around in a circle with a guitar so what do you expect?)

I tried to get a picture of the kids being festive in their Valentine's Day outfits but, of course, one is always smiling while the other is not.  Bryleigh has the cutest little shirt that says, "Peek a Boo" and then on the back is say, "I love you." And of course, Daddy says that a Red Wisconsin Jersey is festive enough for Christian!

We also made cookies for Christian's Car's Valentines for his party at Preschool tomorrow!

I hope everyone had a love filled day!  I know I sure did!

A much needed getaway

Yesterday we hit the road and went to Appleton for the night!  Work has been very long and rough so I had the last minute idea to book a hotel and off we went!  We spend the day at the Children's Museum and the kids had a great time playing!  Grandma and cousin Denali came along and it was a relaxing, fun weekend!  We stopped and ate at Olive Garden which is one of my favorite restaurants (I can't pass up the soup, salad, and bread sticks!

And then off to play!  Here is a little tour through our destinations of fun....

Firefighter

Construction Worker

 Golfer

Bryleigh Fun Time

 Water Fun

Doll Hospital

Pilot

Getting Ready to head out

Then we headed back to the hotel and took the already exhausted children swimming!

It was a rough night last night because our little Bryleigh girl does not like to sleep anywhere but her own bed so we were up bright and early! So we headed out and did some shopping today!  I got lots accomplished. I got Christian some much needed 3T pants since he finally outgrew his 2T pants and I also got some cute dresses and tops for myself our trip to Mexico coming up soon!  Overall we had a very relaxing, fun weekend and I"m glad for once I was spontaneous!

We are definitely exhausted tonight and are ready to hit the couch to snuggle up and watch TV before bed.

Kitchen Fun!

Lately,  we have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen.  I guess its just because when I get home from work, the first thing that I do is start dinner.  Unless I'm not in the mood and we have leftovers.  It has been hard lately because Bryan is strictly following his diet and so he hasn't been eating what I have been making.  If anyone has any healthy recipes that he can eat with the family and are good, let me know! So most of the pictures that I have been taking have fun in the kitchen!  Sorry for the boring scenery!

A favorite toy-cards!
My pretty girl having a melt down!

Oh how I love them!

It sure was a long week and I'm happy its Friday but today did not start out wonderfully!  I had my semi annual teeth cleaning today and had to have my yearly x-rays and they found 4 cavities :(  I do want to point out that I had perfect teeth until I had children and since then I have cavities about 1 year after Christian was born and now about 1 year after Bryleigh was born!

I decided that we need to get out of town so I booked a hotel in Appleton and we are going to head up there and do fun stuff with the kids.  We are going to go to the Children's Museum, do some swimming, and of course go shopping!  I need to get some cute summery things for Mexico!  So hopefully we will have a relaxing weekend!

Superbowl Champions!

Today was a good day!  We couldn't be happier that the Packers won the Superbowl!  What a great game last night!  It was a nail biter, that's for sure!  I sure am proud to be from Wisconsin, home of the Green Bay Packers!  The hubby sure was in a good mood also!  One quick photo of Christian before we put him to bed last night!

And today, I made it through my first state survey at work and without any citations!!!!  The traumatic brain injury unit that I work on is licensed as a skilled nursing facility so the state needs to come in once a year to make sure we are following all our regulations and all the technical stuff and we passed with flying colors!  What a stressful day but so happy its over for the year!

And just for the record, I am still keeping up with P90X workouts I started last weekend! Hot beach body, here I come!!!!  Okay that's a little exaggerated but its fun to think about :)

Wedding Time

Yesterday we spend the evening at my co worker's wedding!  Megan and her husband, Calvin, were married in Key West, Florida on January 9 but they had their reception last night!  She was a very beautiful bride and had the most amazing dress!  It had a purple sash and was all lace!

Our original plan was for Bryan and I to attend, but decided to bring the kids also.  It was perfect that we did, because my supervisor from work showed up with her 2 boys and our kiddos played together.  The kids had such a fun time dancing and running around!  I even got out there a little bit and busted some moves, but only because Christian begged me to!  (I decided its okay if I look stupid dancing, as long its with a 3 year old!)  Needless to say, the kids were wiped out and we headed home around 9ish.

Last night, once again, made me realize that I work with an amazing group of girls and I can't be more thankful for my job!  I love that I have coworkers that are no only my friends but also that I can hang out with outside of work!

So now we are preparing to head over our Uncle's house to cheer on the Packers in the Superbowl!  Woo Hoo!  Go Packers Go!  And of course I'll be eating lots of food!  (Good thing I already did my P90X workout for the day!

So off I go...but not before I share some pictures of my favorite people!

See that look of admiration?  I do!

The love of a father and his daughter!

Its amazing how much fun a piece of wood and a cottage cheese container can be! He says was was a rock star!

Now Go Packers Go!
