Off to Madison we go!

I'm so blessed that I have amazing family that is willing to tag along with me to Madison every weekend while I go to classes.  My mom usually comes with me but this weekend she had plans.  So Bryan and the kids decided to tag along with me and we made it a weekend trip.  We drove down on Friday night and stayed in a hotel.  After dinner at Hu Hot's (my favorite!), we went back to the hotel for swimming fun!

Bryan and the kids dropped me off at school on Saturday morning. While I was in class, they headed down town to enjoy the Madison Children's Museum.  I didn't think that they would find enough to do to occupy their time for 6 hours but they stayed at the museum all day. By the time they came to pick me up, Bryleigh was completed zonked in the back seat!

We decided to stop at the mall on the way back to the hotel  While we were there, we passed Claire's.  Bryleigh insisted that she get her ears pierced.  Bryan and I have been on the fence about his for awhile now. I was okay with it but Bryan was hesitant.  He wanted her to be able to choose when she wanted them pierced but he also had concerns that she is still so young.  Well, Daddy agreed to it after Bryleigh offered her cute little smile!

We went in to Claire's to see if they would be able to pierce both ears at one time. They informed us that they will only do that if the child is 4 years old since younger children tend to wiggle too much. Bryleigh was so upset and the store associate saw this and agreed to pierce her ears!  She was so excited.  We watched a little 6 or 7 year old get her ears pierced before Bryleigh. I was sure that the little girl would cry which would discourage Bryleigh from wanting them done, but the girl didn't even flinch. So of course, Bryleigh wanted to be next.

She hopped right up in the chair and was so excited.  (Christian was the one that was very hesitant for Bryleigh. He wouldn't even look as they pierced Bryleigh's ears.  We sure have a little protector on our hands!) They pierced her ears and she didn't even shed a tear! She was a bit shocked for a moment like "What just happened?" type of look but then the associate showed her the cute little earrings in her ears and she just smiled! The first thing she said was "Now I have earrings like you, mommy!"
All she kept saying is "I'm going to show everyone my earrings!" She just can't quite grasp the fact that they get to stay in her ears.  And she is such a trooper when we clean them!

After getting her ears pierced, we went next door and enjoyed some frozen yogurt!  It was very yummy!
We did more swimming on Saturday night and this morning.  After breakfast today, we packed up and checked out of the hotel. We decided to take the kids to the Children's Museum again today since I was unable to enjoy it with them yesterday!

Christian's favorite activity at the museum is the painting and window washing station.  He kept going back to clean the windows.  He was even telling one of the other mother's that he wants to be a window washer when he grows up. Oh boy, I didn't realize how much fun a squeegee could be!

Fun on the hamster wheel

It was a successful weekend of fun! So fun that even Christian fell asleep on the way home.

We are now ending the weekend with a movie night watching "Elf."

Our Beautiful Ballerina

Our beautiful ballerina finished her first 6 week dance session for this year.  Since the girls were able to dress up for the class, Bryleigh wanted to wear her Tinkerbell dress.  She is just too sweet when she dances!

I'm so glad that I was able to sneak out of my internship early today to be able to see our little Tinkerbell perform!  Now she has a week off and then she starts another session!  Our sweet girl sure loves her dance classes!

Road Trip

Bryan and I enjoyed a night away this weekend thanks to my inlaws for watching the kiddos for us. Bryan drove down with me to Madison for my classes on Saturday. After class, we drove to Dubuque, Iowa for one of Bryan's friend's weddings.  We don't venture out much especially to other states so it was fun to tour the town.  It is a beautiful town with lots of old buildings to look at and the views are amazing!  I don't have a lot of pictures because I just didn't feel like taking pictures but I have a few from our getaway!

It was a whirlwind getaway and we were back home this afternoon just in time to carve pumpkins with these sweet faces...

Our weekend went by so fast, but I'm so glad to be home!
