70th Birthday and a Wedding

What an eventful, fun filled weekend that we have been having.  I knew that this weekend was going to be busy but I didn't think that we would not even have a chance to sit down :)  But its all worth it in the end.  Friday was my Great Aunt Jackie's 70th Birthday party. She lives in Washington and gets back to Wisconsin to visit about once a year. So this year, my great uncle surprised her with a birthday party with all of her Wisconsin family to help celebrate!  It was at the same place that we had  Bryan's Surprise 25th Party last December!  She was completely surprised!

We had all of her great great nieces and nephews (aka mine and my sister's kids) there to help celebrate also!  They were so well behaved and had so much fun playing "army" by crawling underneath and all over the row of chairs.  This entertained them all for hours. And we also had a first for Christian...he wore holes in his brand new jeans from crawling around so much :)

By the end of the night, all of the kids were exhausted from having so much fun!

The kids had chicken nuggets and french fries but us big kids enjoyed a great meal of pasta, chicken, corn, potatoes, and salad!  We were stuffed by the end of dinner.

Always acting like our little baby girl!
It was so nice to be able to see all of my family, some of whom I haven't seen in several years. My uncle and aunt and 4 of my 5 cousins came down from Michigan.  It was definitely a reality check to see all my "not so little" cousins. It sure makes me feel old to remember spending a week every summer in Michigan to help with the babies!

Getting the baby fix..as usual :)
Aunt Renee was Bryleigh's little buddy all night!
I was one exhausted girl after going to bed after midnight and then having to get up for school on Saturday at 5am but I would do it all over again to see all my amazing family again!  We sure had a fun night!

And then after a long day at school on Saturday, I came home to spend a few hours with the kiddos before dropping them off at Grandma and Grandpa's for a sleepover so Bryan and I could go to my friend's wedding.  Becky and I went to college together...gulp...5 years ago.  She married the man of her dream, Andy, and I'm so happy for her.  She was one beautiful bride!

The venue was gorgeous!  It made me want to get married all over again.  I loved the fall theme and everything was just perfect for her special day.  Her wedding favors were so cute!

Bryan had a much needed evening together with just the two of us...

And after leaving the wedding, we were able to meet up with my best friends whom I don't see often enough, Audrey and Heather!  It was so nice to catch up with them!
We even slept in until 8am this morning!  Ahhh :)  But I sure do miss those kiddos so we are heading out for another fun filled day but this time its all about the kids.  Pumpkin Patch and hayrides here we come!

Last Parade of the Year

Although the weather is getting a bit cooler, we were still able to enjoy our last parade of the season to celebrate Homecoming weekend!

And as always, the kids came away with way too much candy and we haven't even put a dent in the candy stash from the Summer parade! Christian and Bryleigh are on a sugar rush right now and I'm thinking that it will be exceptionally challenging to get Bryleigh to stay in her bed tonight, at least for the next hour or so.  Wish me luck,  I'm one tired Momma and I'm ready to hit the pillow :)

Let the truth be told...

I cannot believe that I forgot to share my fortune with you all from our dinner this past weekend...

I don't understand why Bryan doesn't believe in fortune cookies any longer ;)  But I think I will keep this around for a while longer!  You know, fortune cookies don't lie!

Fall Festivities

Today we started what will be a new family tradition. We made a visit to Helene's Hilltop Orchard in Merrill, Wisconsin. It is a family owned apple orchard and pumpkin patch and has tons of fun activities for children and families.  Although, it is was about an hour from home, it was well worth the drive and as a bonus, we were able to see the beautiful fall tree colors!  It was a day of great family memories made!

We went on a hay ride, cow train ride, found our way through the corn maze, played in the barnyard fun area, and enjoyed some hot apple cider and hot chocolate!

We couldn't have asked for a better afternoon than spending the chilly fall day with our great family!  Now we have some apple turnovers and caramel apples that are calling our names!
