We are here!

We made it to Mexico safe and sound! We are staying at the Dreams Puerto Adventuras Resort and Spa just outside of Playa Del Carmen! We are loving every minute of it but we are hoping for sunny weather and no wind tomorrow!

Easter Eggs

We had family move night at my in law's on Friday night.  Since we have been so busy with getting ready for vacation, I completely forgot about coloring Easter eggs.  I was a bit bummed thinking that we were not going to have time to do this. But Friday turned out to be the perfect evening to do it and of course it is always more fun when Grandma and Grandpa are involved too!

The kids (and adults) had a blast. And we were able to bring a few eggs home to leave out for the Easter bunny since he came early this year!

Tonight we leave for Milwaukee and tomorrow we fly out to Mexico.  This is always a bittersweet day since I hate saying good bye to the kids but yet I know they will receive just as much love from Grandma as they would from us!  I asked Christian last night if he was going to miss us and his response was "I will miss you, but Mom, I'm going to be having so much fun with Grandma that I won't remember I'm missing you!"  Oh how I love that boy!

So I guess its Adios until we return :)

Happy (Early) Easter

Today we celebrated Easter with my family since we will be leaving for Mexico this coming week and will not be in town for Easter.  We usually celebrate on Easter Sunday with Bryan's and my side of the family but this year, my grandparents are out of town and Bryan's parents will leave on Easter Sunday for their trip to the Dominican Republic. We will definitely miss our traditional Easter celebration but no matter the day that we celebrate, we all know the "Reason for the Season" and we celebrate Jesus each and every day.  So this celebration was just another time that we get to spend with family and also have fun with the kids!

The Easter bunny was very nice to the kiddos this year...(you would think that he got super good after Christmas sales or something!lol) We don't allow the kids to have much candy,so it usually sits around here for months (unless mom and dad remember where they hid it in the cupboards) so there was not a lot of candy this year.  The Bunny went for fun, useful items this  year:

The kids will get the bigger items over the course of the week so that they will be entertained when my mom is here watching them for 9 days!

Christian and Bryleigh were so excited this morning!  They were very happy that the Easter Bunny ate the egg and carrots that we left for him.  I love seeing the look on the kids faces on Holidays!

Even though the weather was not as warm or sunny as we had hoped, we decided to grill out!  We had brats, potato salad, fruit salad, cheesy potatoes, chips, and cookies!  My mom and dad, sister and family, and my Grandma were all here to celebrate.

We had an Easter egg hunt planned and we are usually able to do this outside but not this year.  Last year at this time, there was no snow on the ground and we were outside without coats.  This year we have about 2 feet of snow still on the ground so we had an our Easter egg hunt inside.

I'm so glad that we were able to celebrate today.  It was a great day to spend with family!  Happy early Easter!
