The Great Outdoors

We planned a last minute camping trip for this past weekend!  We could not have asked for better weather!  It was hot and humid but that is the best beach weather and we sure took advantage of our sand toys and water wings this weekend!

We went to North Wood County Park which has been our campground of choice for many years just because it has nice bathrooms, a small swimming area, and a little park right in the middle.  We stayed at a site right on the playground so it was nice that we could watch the kids play from our campsite!

Bryleigh could not get enough of the swings. She would have stayed on them all weekend if we would have let her!

Daddy and Christian liked the swings too!

And Daddy taught Christian how to go across the monkey bars and he was practicing all weekend. He almost has the hang of it, if he could just get enough momentum to get all the way across.  He took a couple diggers to the butt and face but he picked himself right back up and tried again!  That's our boy!

What is wrong with this picture???? In Bryan's defense, Bryleigh loves to "help",  she will always want to "push" us on the swings also!

Bubbles were a big hit also! This entertained Bryleigh for a good 20 minutes.  Thank goodness for spill proof bubbles.  We finally learned our lesson with bubbles!

We also brought sparklers. After 4 years of sitting in Christian's closet, we figured now would be a good time to use them up.  I guess after 4 years, sparklers have more "duds" in the box then actually working ones!

But of course, grandparents always have to stage up the parents, so Grandpa busted out the road flare which was much more entertaining than the sparklers!

Saturday, we spend the entire day either at the beach...

Playing on the suspension bridge...

Catching cray fish, turtles, and frogs by the bridge...

This little boy, Alex, was Christian and Bryleigh's best bud for the weekend. He was the sweetest 11 year old I have ever met!

Taking naps...

Or sitting by the campfire...

Overall it was a fun weekend,  we had some frustration this morning while packing up as the slide out on the camper did not want to work properly so needless to say, it is now parked at the RV place in hopes that they can fix it soon :(  Oh the joys of ownership, but I just have to keep reminding myself that its better than tent camping!

It was a rush to pack up this morning but we made it to my niece, Denali's, dance recital just in time!  And since Bryan's Grandpa and Grandpa were going to watch the kids while we went, but Grandma came down with a virus of some sort, we took the kids with us.  It was a bit rough since the kids didn't really have the patient to sit through a recital for 2 hours, we made it and were able to cheer on Nali. She did great!  We are so proud of you Nali!  I would have liked to sit through the entire recital but we ended up leaving at intermission because there was no way that we were going to be able to get 2 kids to sit still for 2 more hours.

Overall we had a great weekend!  Even though we were exhausted, we were still able to make it to our friends house for some water fun!

Sorry for the overwhelming amount of photos but I just couldn't pick my favorites!
