Crooked River Weekend

We are home from our weekend camping getaway!  And it was a hot one!  We found a fun little campground in Montello called Crooked River Campground.

We left early Thursday morning in hopes of setting up before the 100 degree weather hit but even leaving early, we had little relief. I have to say, I love hot weather, but when faced with the reality of no place to cool down, it is not fun. Our air conditioner just could not keep up with the 105 degree weather on Thursday and Friday.  Needless to say, we spent all of our time at the pond!

We loved this campground, not only for all of the fun activities they provide but also because all of the people, both weekenders and seasonal campers, were all so friendly.  We always were chatting with someone and the kids made many friends  One of the kids favorite past times was the jumping pillow.  I even had a little fun on this one!

On Friday evening, my in laws came to enjoy the weekend with us. There was a glow parade at dusk and the campground owners told us that Christian could decorate his Monster Truck and join the parade so Christian and grandpa wasted no time getting to work to join the festivities.

Christian even had his own GPS.  He had a blast at the parade although being the only Power Wheels in a parade of golf carts and a tractor trailer,  Dad did the most work pushing them to keep up with the show!  It was quite a sight to see! Great memories!

On Saturday evening,  there was a dance party at the Pavillion complete with a DJ.  Bryleigh danced the night away to say the least.  After we headed back to the campsite to get ready for a shower, Bryleigh hopped on her bike and when Grandpa asked where she was going, she stated, "I goin' dancin'!  Oh boy, is this a look into our future in 15 years?!? :)

While Christian and Grandpa played karate after dark!

We ate lots of food...

Played with Grandpa's genius inventions...

 Received cute hairstyles by Grandma...
And now we all feel like this...

But there is no rest for the weary because tomorrow our little  big boy turns 5 years old so we have a party to get ready!
