Mexico Part 1

We arrived in Mexico early on Wednesday, March 27.  There was an hour time time difference so when we flew out at 6:40am, we still arrived in Mexico by 9:30am.  The flight to Mexico was beautiful with blue, sunny skies.  When we descended to land in Mexico, it was overcast skies.  It was in the low 70's and windy.  But we made the best of our vacation and explored the resort for the remainder of the day.

Since we did the Apple Vacations 6 Apple Square Deal, we did not find out the resort that we would be at until we arrived at Milwaukee airport on the morning of departure. We learned that we would be at Dreams Puerto Adventuras Resort and Spa in Riviera Maya, Mexico.  The resort was beautiful and we had an amazing time but there were pro's and con's to the resort that we were at.  I don't think that we would do the Square Deal again because we like to try out different resorts and there is a chance that we would be placed at this same resort again next time.

The sun came out briefly on our second day and the temperatures started warming up.  We spent the majority of our days either by in the pool, in the ocean, in the saltwater pool, or eating!  That is what I love about vacation, I have nothing that I have to stress about besides checking on the kids daily!

One of the pro's to our resort was that we had a Pool Side room!  We spent a lot of our time sitting on our patio's just chatting and relaxing.  It was so convenient to not have to get up early to reserve chairs by the pool since we would just walk right back to our patio and sit on our chairs.

One of the downsides to the resort was that it was a bit too small for our liking!  We have now stayed at a large resort, a medium sized resort, and a small resort and so far we like the medium sized resort better.  We like to be able to explore the resort and walk different paths when we get bored and with this resort, we could walk the resort in 5 minutes.  It would be a family friendly resort if we would have brought children but since we did not, we were hoping for more a nightlife.

The resort did have an adult side and a family side but our room was on the family side and we enjoyed the more lively entertainment so we hung out in the family pool most often!

The ocean water was a bit chilly for my liking but I did take a dip in it once or twice.  The resort had a salt water pool and we hung out there quite a bit since the water felt warmer and there were no waves!

We decided to do an excursion this time around since we enjoyed zip lining on our first trip to Mexico back in 2011!   We went to Xplor Adenture Park which included a fun filled day of 14 zip lines, swimming in underwater caves, rafting through the caves, and ATV Jungle Trail Adventure.  We left at 7am and didn't get back to the resort until 5:30pm.  The scenery was beautiful and I took so many pictures!  It was by far the best excursion that we have been on yet.

When we were not lounging by the pool, we were wandering around the resort and of course, taking lots of pictures!

The resort staff were all so friendly and fun!  Rockstar was a member of the Dreams Entertainment Team and he was the life of the party!  He challenged Travis daily to arm wrestling matches, to which he would always lose! Travis became known as "Rambo" during our stay!
After the first 2 days, the weather was amazing each day!  We couldn't have asked for nicer weather and I just wanted to pack it up and bring it home with me. Fortunately, when we returned home the weather is much warmer being in the mid 50's and early 60's. This made coming home much easier.

I will have a part II update on our Mexico vacation on another day since I have overloaded you with pictures already.
