Here We Go!

I'm like a little kid in a candy shop today! Tonight we head out for our first camping trip in our new travel trailer!  Its been a busy few days with loading up all of the supplies and making many trips to the store to purchase little things we need. But thankfully we will only need to pack/unpack the food and clothes the next time around and all the other necessities can stay in the camper!

Christian has been so cute.  For the past week he will wake up and tell us the countdown number until our big camping trip!  And I'm pretty sure that I"m just as excited as he is!  I was so anxious and excited that I was a little bummed that we couldn't take off yesterday after I was home from work but we only made reservations for Friday thru Monday.  Now I am happy that we did not since we had quite the gusty winds last night. Thankfully, the tornado watches only resulted in a tiny bit of rain and some thunder but gust of wind up to 60 mph were the worst.. We didn't have any damage but I did a picture of local business with damage to their building sign.  We stopped by Grandma and Grandpa's to see their new camper this morning and to the benefit of Grandma, because the kids picked some tree branches that had fallen in her yard from the winds.

Now Bryleigh is getting a quick nap in and Christian is relaxing for a bit.  The weather is beautiful so I can't wait to enjoy it tonight with a campfire! And S'mores...yum!  Its supposed to rain tomorrow and Monday but you can never really trust those meteorologists so here's to hoping that they are wrong!  I'll be sure to share about our first big camping adventure once we back home and settled in!

4K Picnic

Christian had his 4K Picnic at school this morning!  Unfortunately, I was unable to attend because I had to work but Christian had tons of family to enjoy the day with!  My mom and dad, Bryan's mom, Bryan and Bryleigh were all able to enjoy the day with Christian!  I'm so thankful that we are surrounded by family and that is one blessing that I will never take for granted!  Although I was unable to be there, I was able to share the special day through pictures...

Bryleigh had just as much fun, if not more, than Christian at the picnic. And she met some friends too!

Last week, Christian was very excited to tell me about the new "scooper" that they put in the sand box. Good thing that we only live 3 blocks away so we can still walk down there to play!

They even got to take a ride on the school bus! Although Christian will not be riding the bus next year, it was still fun for him to find out what its like!

Mr. Bernette, Landon and Raya's dad, even brought one of the fire engines to the picnic!

Real Men carry pink lunch boxes :)

Struttin' her stuff!
It looked like a fun morning! It is official that Christian is on to the next chapter in his school year life!  I'm so proud of how far he has come this year!  He will be always be our baby boy no matter how fast he is growing up :)

Class of 2012

We are proud to announce that our little boy has graduated!  Christian had his official "graduation" from 4K tonight!

We are so proud of our little man!  Time is going by so fast and we are so excited, yet sad, that we now have a Kindergartener in our household!

 Graduation Poem
Do you remember way last fall
When I was only just this tall?
Now look at me! I'm up to here!
And my, I've learned a lot this year!
In fact, you think I'm really great!
That's why I get to graduate!

He sure has grown in the past year!

And to think that this was Christian last year!

The sun still shines...

Although I know it may be a superstition, the saying "Death comes in three's"  has rang true to me too many times. When I started my first social work job out of college, it was in a nursing home.  What I was told was that when one resident died, in most cases, two other residents would be soon to follow. I wouldn't say that it happened every time, but in most situations, it did.  My heart is so sad today as this "superstition" rang true for our family this weekend. Bryan's cousin lost his girlfriend and mother to their 7 month son on Saturday.  She was so young in her mid twenties and had so much life left to live.  My heart hurts so much for Jason and their little boy, Harley. The pain of losing a great grandma, grandpa, and now the love of his life in less than 3 weeks must be unbearable.  Please keep this family in your prayers as they go through this trial in their lives.  Please pray for strength and guidance in raising his 7 month old son.

I hate that so much loss has been occurring in our family.  But the sun is still shining and life must go on, I love that we have the sweet innocence of our children to keep us strong and moving on!

I'm continuing on with my little documentary of Bryleigh's strange sleeping positions. She goes down for nap and bed time in her bed and we just never know where we will find her next!

I will be putting a collage together eventually of the her bedtime ventures!  It should be fun to look back on someday!

Yesterday was also the first time this year that that sprinkler and water table made their debut. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather!

Now if only it will stay like this for our big camping weekend coming up!  I don't think we will be able to pack much in Grandpa's new car for our camping weekend but Christian was excited for his first ride in the BMW, and I'm sure Grandpa was just as thrilled to be sporting that nice car seat in the front :)

A glimpse of Summer

If I could officially call it, I would say that summer has arrived. This past week has been shorts and tank top weather and I am loving every minute of it.  Its almost 90 degrees here today and I hear everyone complaining of the humidity, but not his girl!  This is what I live for each summer!  Daddy is fishing with one of his buddy's today and the kids and I have been outside all morning.

We met up with my nieces and mom at the park this morning!

I was able to get some last minute camping supplies that we need for a our big camping trip next weekend.  And then we came back to our house to have a little KFC picnic!

Christian also wanted me to share that not only did he learn to write his bike without training wheels this week, he also learned how to start by himself also with out mom or dad having to hold him and give him a push.  That's our little boy, getting so big!!!!

Now Bryleigh is napping and Christian is resting watching cartoons!  The plan for tonight includes more playtime and sun!  I'm also very excited for church tonight as our church is having Ian McCormack back to share his testimony once again. I missed it the last time he was at our church, so I will definitely be going tonight.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend!
