Week #1

Well, Christian's first week of school is officially over!  We have a happy, excited Kindergartner at home and he is anxious every morning to get to school!  This is quite the change from what we thought the first week of school was going to consist of.

We are still working on an after school routine so that we can get on a consistent schedule.  We have a very hyperactive little boy on our hands come 3:45pm!

And this little girl is also having to adjust without having her little brother home all day long. It was very quiet today with only having one child home. I'm used to my Friday's being very busy and loud! So today, it was very unusual for Bryleigh to want to cuddle with me all morning until nap time.  She is a bit bored now that she has no one to fight with all day long :) She will ask "where Christian?" several times each day.

Since I haven't blogged in a couple of days, here are a few pictures from our night before school started activity...making Rice Krispie Treats!

I promise that at least a few of the marshmallows actually made it in with the Rice Krispie's!

And it my week wasn't exciting enough, I received my new toy today!  My new IPad...thanks to my hubby who finally said that I could purchase one when I found a good deal :)  Definitely something to get used to because I have never even played on Apple product before.  I'm so excited to start using it!

But I must go now since I have to prepare for my first day of school tomorrow!  And I have some yummy chili cooking on the stove, ya know, the good old stuff that you cover up with all the good ole' healthy toppings...sour cream, cheese, and Frito's!

Our Kindergartner

Well, I can officially say that we survived Christian's first day of Kindergarten...Or should I say that I survived?!?  Christian did great!  For as much anxiety that Christian seemed to have about his first day at school, one would have never known this morning! Christian was as happy as can be.  He was even dressed, breakfast all eaten, teeth brushed, and ready to head out the door by 7:30 this morning!

He wasn't scared at all and was all too willing to let us walk out that Kindergarten door!  He gave us a fist bump...and I even got a kiss! It made leaving him for his first day so much easier than anticipated!

After school, we surprised Christian with taking him out to dinner to celebrate his first day of Kindergarten!  He told us all about his day and all the friends he met!

We finished off the evening with Coldstone ice cream for dessert!  Yumm!  Our little boy did so great on his first day of school and we are so proud of him.  He asked me tonight, "So I get 1 day off of school each week?"  When I attempted to comfort him and tell him that he actually gets 2 days off per week thinking that he wanted more days off, he says, "No Mom, I don't want any days off of school!" Well, we surpassed this milestone with flying colors and I love knowing that we can drop him off at school and he is enjoying his day!

Our Labor Day Weekend

We enjoyed our long weekend on what is most likely, our last camping trip of the summer!  I'm sad to say that because I am not ready for summer to be over or for my little boy to be starting Kindergarten :(  But seasons change and I am a tad bit excited for fall since I love my sweatshirts and perfect coffee drinking weather! But back to our camping trip...we could not have asked for more beautiful weather for our weekend. It was in the 80's with sunshine all weekend and today it was a bit cloudy with a few rain drops but we were packing up anyways so it was not big deal.

My MIL being ghetto fabulous :)

We even tried to keep the potty training going while we were camping!  What's better than letting a potty training two year old run around without a diaper in the great outdoors!  She did great, although as soon we we got home, I put her in underwear and she peed on the floor.  I think we have a ways to go yet :)

It never fails, Bryleigh decides its nap time when we go on the boat!

Christian is Grandpa's little shadow!

This campground also had a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights so once again, Bryleigh decided she was "goin' dancin"

What's wrong with this picture?

Daddy is just a big kid!

We stopped at an island and we even found that pirates had been there :) This was Christian's highlight of the weekend!

We had a great weekend and although I'm sad that it is over, it was great to come home and take a nice hot shower in my own shower! And now it is back to preparing for Christian's first day of school tomorrow and my first day of school on Saturday!  EEEK!
