Spiderman Party...AKA Christian's Birthday

Tomorrow our little (okay, not so little anymore) boy turns 4 years old!  This may not seem like a big change but to me, a 4 year old is not so much a toddler anymore and this is a scary thought!  I miss my little Christian but he sure is growing up to be one handsome little man!  We had a cake/ice cream party for Christian tonight because we have a wedding to go to tomorrow on his birthday and what more fun could a 4 year old have then to dance the night away :)  So we invited all our family over and we had a great time!

Christian was so excited to see his cake this morning when we picked it up!  And Sugar Babies Bakery did an amazing job once again!

The weather was beautiful so the kids had a blast playing outside and the water table was a big hit!

After some playing,  we sang happy birthday to our little man and everyone couldn't wait to dig into the black raspberry cake!  And Mmmmm was it good!

And we can't forget about the presents or at least Christian wouldn't let us forget :)  Christian got tons of books (which I love more than toys), lots of outdoor toys like bubbles, sidewalk chalk, squirt guns, a Cars Truck, John Deere Trucks, lots of money we can put away into his savings account, and his most favorite, more explorer gear to add to his collection!

Christian told me that he had a great birthday party and he can't wait to get up in the morning to play with his toys!  So the party was a success!  Thanks to all of these great family and friends that came to help us celebrate...

And what's a party without a family picture!  Bryan would probably say it would be a better party if I wouldn't take so many pictures, but this girl doesn't agree :)

Technology Illiterate!

I think all who know me would say that I am not particularly technology savvy, but I finally got "with it" and got a smart phone. I could never bring myself to pay double my cell phone bill just to have the internet, but we decided to spoil ourselves and we both got the evo 4g phones and we even have TEXTING! Can you believe it? Only like 5 years behind in times.

We can already tell how much we are going to love them! But since I'm typing this from my phone and its rather difficult, ill update how we are still liking them in a couple of days!

We have a busy weekend ahead of us with christian's birthday and a wedding!

And the 4th Celebrations Continue...

After  the kids woke up from their much needed naps yesterday, Christian went with his Great Uncle Kevin and Aunt Michelle to his first Rafters Baseball Game.  It was perfect for him because they only went for half of the game and he loved it!

While Christian was at the game, Bryan and I took Bryleigh out to my soon to be brother in law's land for some food and Bryleigh even took a swim.  We only stayed for a short time before we headed down town for the annual fireworks show!  Its my favorite time to "people watch."  Oh the days to be young and walking around with friends all night, now we are the ones that are doing the "observing."  Its great because Bryan's Great Grandma Marge lives along the river so we always have perfect seats for the fireworks and there are always other kids to entertain our children!

She loves smoothies!

Christian was so proud of his good picture taking skills!

The kids were spoiled last night! Bryleigh had her first try of Cotton Candy and boy was she a mess!  And the kids had glow sticks!  Christian was so excited about his glow stick bumble bee glasses!

Our cousin Lindsey with Mya and Max!  They were the sweetest kids!
The fireworks were amazing this year1  Because the fireworks were basically rained out last year (they still shot them off but nobody was downtown) they were not able to shoot off a lot of the fireworks so they started off the show with some of last years fireworks and it was like the grand finale a the beginning and the end!  Bryeigh did amazing and LOVED them! She refused to let me cover her ears!  On the other hand, Christian hated them! He even had on Grandma's big ear plugs but he kept saying, "The fireworks are hurting my feelings,"  which he obviously did not understand what it meant. So he only watched a couple and then turned his head for the rest!  But all in all, it was a great day and great weather!  The kids zonked out when we got home!

Camping...Success!

Camping was definitely a success!  We had a GREAT time!  I was so worried how Bryleigh was going to do for nap time and bed time and it went fine!  She would fall asleep in her stroller for nap time and the first night at bed time, she fussed for about 15 minutes before falling asleep and the next 2 nights, she went right to sleep!

Although for a little thunderstorm on Friday night, we had beautiful weather for camping!  We were able to take the kids to the beach area several times each day to run off some energy and cool down!

We some great visitors also!  Grandma and Grandpa Fawley, my mom and niece, Denali, and Uncle Kevin, Michelle, and Lindsey all came out to visit!

We had a little photo shoot fun because Bryleigh was getting "sleepy silly"  towards dinner time and she wouldn't stop laughing while playing with Great Grandma's hat!

And it never fails,  Christian cannot get enough of playing with Grandpa and his "tools"  when we are camping!

But the best part of camping was the campfire and especially the s'mores!  Bryleigh experienced her first s'mroe this past weekend and I don't know if she will ever turn back now :)

Look at that face!

We spent the majority of our time just relaxing around the fire!

We ended the night last night by going on some nature walks and lighting off some sparklers.
Bryleigh just loved this dragonfly

We had a great time but it was glad to come home today!  I have lots of unpacking to do and the kids need to get back into their routine!  But I came to a few conclusions this weekend, 1.Bryleigh is a tomboy!  She loved getting dirty, and she even had a few face dives and she would get right back up and brush herself off and continue on playing! And 2. Its crazy to say, but it was easier camping with 2 kids then when we went with just Christian when he was a baby!

Now on to the fireworks later tonight!  Happy 4th of July!

Wish us Luck...

We decided to plan a last minute camping trip for the holiday!  We swore that we would never go tent camping again after having a second child because it was hard enough with just Christian.  But since we could not afford a camper this year, and the idea of camping sounded fun, we are going!

So I"m pretty sure we are going to need all the good luck we can get with it being in the 100's today and hot all weekend! I will probably have many great stories when we come home!

Happy 4th of July weekend to everyone!
