2012 in Review

2012 was a year of up's and down's for us. We were overcome by sadness with the loss of 2 very important grandparents in our lives,  blessed with the addition of our little niece,  and overwhelmed with our baby boy starting Kindergarten at the same time that I started Graduate School!

There were many tragedies that overtook our nation this year and when all is over, all we can do is come together and turn to our dear Lord for guidance!  While 2012 has come to a close, we are excited to see what 2013 has in store for us!

Here is our 2012 review...
January 

• Christian had his circus at school!  He was a muscleman!

•  Bryan and I went to Mexico with our friends, Jenna and Andy!

February

• We took the kids bowling.  This was Bryleigh's first time bowling! 

•  I was parent helper for Christian's field trip to the Cheese Factory.

• We built our first "Frosty" of the year!

March

• I was chaperone for Christian's field trips to the Dentist Office and Fire Station.

• We hit record breaking temperatures for March!

•  Bryan and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary!

•  We joined the Compassion family and began sponsoring our little boy, Manuel!

• We took a weekend getaway to Mall of America in Minnesota.

• We bought our travel trailer!

April

• Our foster sister, Tasha, turned 18.

• We celebrated Easter and all the fun activities that it involved!

• We learned that we were going to be the proud aunt and uncle to another beautiful little girl! 
• Grandma Lisa chaperoned Christian's field trip to the airport!

•  We switched Bryleigh from her crib to her toddler bed.  And we are still feeling the effects of this even after 8 months!

•  Bryan and I went to the Daniel Tosh concern in Milwaukee.

•  Bryan's grandfather, Bob, and my parent's cat, Vita, passed away on the same day.

• Bryan's great grandma, Vi, passed away.  

•  We celebrated Mother's Day!

•  Christian graduated from 4K!

•  We had the kids professional pictures taken. 

• Christian started Tball.

•  We used our travel trailer for the first time over Memorial Day weekend,

June

• We took a day trip to the Dells with my in law's.

• Christian won a goldfish at a carnival.  Goldie was with us for a few short days.

• Wisconsin held its first Governor Recall Election, only the 3rd in U.S. History which Governor Scott Walker reclaimed his office. 
• We went on a few more camping trips.

• We celebrated Father's Day at my Grandparents house.

• Christian started swim lessons.

• I learned that I would be moving to a different unit at work which was I was very excited about.
• Christian finished with his summer T Ball session, but we gained 2 new great friends...his coaches!

•  We made a trip to the Dells to go to Mount Olympus Waterpark.

July

• Christian turned 5.

• Christian started soccer.

• Goldie II passed away and he was and will be the last fish that we own :) We had a fishy funeral!

August

• We went to the Packer Family night!

• We enjoyed a camping trip with our friends, Tammy and Travis, and their 3 children.

• Our newest niece, Ducati, was born on August 19, which is the same day that our Compassion sponsored child, Manuel, turned 5 and Christian celebrated his 5th baptismal anniversary.

•  Bryleigh went horseback riding for the first time!

September

• We had our last camping trip of the season over Labor Day Weekend!

• Christian started Kindergarten and I started Graduate school!

•  Our niece, Phoenix, turned 3!

• We started a new Fall tradition by going to Helene's Hilltop Orchard!

•  We celebrated my great Aunt Jackie's 70th Birthday!

October

• We had 70 degree weather at the beginning of October!

• We carved our pumpkins!

• We went trick or treating twice!

•  We took a weekend getaway to the Wilderness Resort in the Dells!

November

• I turned 26!

• We celebrated Thanksgiving 2012! With Bryan's first attempt at Deep Fried Turkey!  Yummm!

•  We cut our own real Christmas tree! A first for our family!

December

• Buddy the Elf made his debut from the North Pole and each night until Christmas we had a little surprise every morning!

• Bryleigh turned 3!

• Bryan turned 26!

• I finished my first semester of graduate school!  
• We had our first major snow storm of the year and Christian had his first Snow Day!

• We celebrated Christmas as you heard all about :)
