We got a bug...

After a long day at work, I called Bryan to let him know that I was on my way home and I was talking away about my day, when I realized that I was talking to myself because Bryan had apparently dropped the phone and all I heard was..."Go get a towel..."  Well, needless to say,  Bryleigh had drank some juice and apparently it went down the wrong tube and all of her lunch came back up!  ewww.

I got home and we decided that we didn't feel like cooking dinner so we loaded up the kids and went to my favorite restaurant of all time..Buffalo Wild Wings!

Bryleigh was playing around and climbing all over the booth but when her food came, she wanted nothing to do with it.  She even threw her fries and nuggets across the table.  We thought that it was just one of her sassy nights.  So we had a nice dinner and loaded up the kids and headed home.

Well, 5 minutes into our drive home, Bryleigh started crying, "Momma, puke."  She threw up all over herself and all over her carseat :(  Apparently, she didn't just choke on her juice this afternoon! We pulled into the gas station quick and cleaned her up as much as we could.  So we sped the 20 minutes home until about 1 minute from home when Bryan was probably doing about 40 mph in a 25 mph zone.  Bryleigh was crying again so we assumed she needed to throw up again and we wanted to get home. Perfect timing because we passed a police officer who did a quick U turn and was on the verge of pulling us over when Bryan turned the corner and stopped quick.  So I got out and tended to Bryleigh with lots of Kleenex and paper towels and thankfully, the police officer slowly went past us and didn't stop.  He must have seen that we had a legitimate reason for speeding. So our eventful night sure made light of unfortunate situation!

We did, however, find out how complicated children's car seats are.  Believe it or not,  in the 4 1/2 years that we have been parents, we have never had to strip a car seat down to clean it completely.  We had one flu incident but fortunately, Christian was able to keep it all on himself and nothing on the car seat.  We have only had a handful of flu related incidents in our household ever. Grandma, on the other hand, may have had to clean several car seats from our kids throwing up.  So Bryan and I had the fun experience of taking apart Bryleigh's car seat and 1 hour (and a few choice words thrown at each other) later we have successfully stripped the seat.  The cover is in the wash and the car seat is in the tub.  Phew!  What a long night.

Now here's to hoping that this is a short lived bug and we can sleep peacefully tonight :)
