New Fence :)

So yesterday was an exciting day!  Our new FENCE was installed!  It is so pretty and everything I had hoped for!

Before:

After:

I think it makes our house/yard look so much nicer!  We had many people drive by and comment on it already!  And although I thought it was going to be more for decoration and not privacy,  it actually does give us a lot more privacy than I was expecting!  An added bonus :)

Batter Up

Tonight was a monumental night in the life of a 3 year old...Christian's first night of T-Ball!  I think I was more excited than Christian!

Just a side note, Bryan and I always joke around that Christian should have been our little girl because he hates to get dirty and he would rather play with dolls and kitchens than play sports.  So we couldn't help but chuckle when we saw what color his shirt was...Purple!

Christian did really well!  I have to be honest, we have not played a lot of sports with Christian because he shows no interest.  So when you consider that,  he actually did pretty well. Although he did say to me, "Am I going to be done with baseball in a couple of weeks?"  and when I asked him he if he was having fun, he said, "Not so much!"  So I guess we will see how the next month goes!  He was out there dancing in the field and not really paying attention so I told Bryan that maybe he would have been better as a cheerleader! :)

We brought Bryleigh along and she was pretty tired and cranky.  But she did enjoy climbing the fence!  See what I mean about her being the tom boy!

And we finished off the night with some ice cream from Dairy Queen!

And on another positive note, Bryan was able to get the majority of the yard cleaned up today!  With Christian's help of course!

Trees are Down

Although I am not thrilled, our two trees in the front yard came down yesterday :(  They were dying so it needed to be done but now we have no big trees in our yard and its going to take forever for our new trees to get big enough to have shade!  But I hated picking up sticks ALL the time so I won't miss that! So while Bryan was at his cousin's graduation, the kids and I watched our trees getting cut down!

The trees before they were cut down...

And what's left of our trees now...

But Christian keeps informing me that he will help dad pick up the sticks and can't wait to use his wheelbarrow!  He informed me that he will wear his "jungle" shoes.

I'm not sure why but everything is "jungle" lately including Grandpa's Tahoe.  That is now officially the "jungle" truck!  And Bryleigh had to sport her shoes also (which are Christian's, since this has been her new norm.)

I still try to keep her looking girlie though, because I'm not ready for her to become a tomboy just yet.

I was rather proud of the headband I made!  Its so cute :)

And right after bath...just too cute :)

We have a long week of cleaning up and getting our yard ready to start the official flower/tree planting!  And a trip to the Dells this week is also on the agenda!

Hot summer days turn to cold!

We had two great days of hot, hot weather this week and although some were complaining, not this girl!  I complain all winter about cold so when it gets hot I love it!  We spent those couple of days swimming and playing in the sprinkler!  You won't see Bryleigh in this picture because to say that she hated the cold water is an understatement :)

Also, this past week, we have been getting more accomplished on our landscaping.  The city came last weekend and cut our tree down and then we had the stump ground out!  Then on Wednesday, we planted our new tree to replace it!  It doesn't look like much now but it will be a deep purple color when it blooms!

We have a long ways to go yet!  We have to remove the stump grindings and fill in the above hold with dirt and then seed it!  Bryan and I spent the morning digging out the iris's around our house! It was cold and rainy and no doubt, I was wishing it was hot and 90 degrees out!   What a job :(  We will be taking the plants that are left and replanting them in the back of our house

We also will be getting our new White Victorian Picket  Fence this coming week!  I'm so excited.  Our house used to serve as a daycare so we had this chain link fence around our yard.  Last year when we built our garage, we had to take part of it down and never put it back up.  So all the chain link will be coming out and a new vinyl fence will be put in :)  I can't wait!

Just to show you an example of why we needed to landscape this year!  Our garden of weeds has taken over!
Tonight we have someone coming over to give us an estimate of how much it will cost to cut down our two HUGE maples in the front yard.  I"m scared to know!

So now our yard looks even worse than when we started but I have to keep in mind that in a couple of weeks, it will look tons better!

I'm a WINNER

I was a lucky girl today!  I have been trying for weeks to be the 9th caller on 95.5 WIFC, our favorite local radio station, so that I could win Dells Season Opener cards. These cards get you into many attractions in Wisconsin Dells for free or significantly reduced prices.  So tonight after weeks of trying, I was finally caller #9!  I was so excited.  So needless to say,  we will be heading to the Dells again this month!  More about the Season Opener Cards found Here

Although I never usually win drawings or anything, today I felt like I deserved it after I had to do a presentation in front of 70 business people today at work.  I have been worried about this presentation for about a month now and I even woke up in the middle of the night last night and couldn't sleep, this is how much I dread public speaking.  But I made it out alive today and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders!

So my most dreaded day, turned into a happy day!  Wisconsin Dells, here we come...again!!!

Dells Trip

I was in a  spontaneous type of mood today (which doesn't happen often) so Bryan, myself, my mother, and niece packed up a picnic lunch and we headed to the Wisconsin Dells for the afternoon!  Our first trip to the Dells this year.

Just a quick side note...Bryleigh looked so cute dressed up for church this morning! This is one of  my favorite summer dresses I have for her!

Okay, back to the Dells Trip. We started off right before lunch and it was perfect because the kids took a quick nap in the car and by the time we got there, they were awake and ready to eat!

After our picnic, the kids had a great time playing!  Although Bryleigh did do a lot of this...

Sitting in her stroller and playing with the buckle!  I wasn't kidding when I said that she is entertained for hours by any type of buckle :)

Then we headed over and took a Dells Duck Tour!

We had a great day and I can't wait to go back this summer and stay for a couple of days!

Big Helper

Christian was our little helper today!  The city came and cut down one of our trees yesterday as it was dying and it was starting to grow in between the power lines. So Bryan had the fun task of cutting down the stump and taking the brush to the compost. Christian decided that he need to help so he went and got his chain saw!

He is just the cutest :)  My mom and I also had our garage sale for 1 more day and it was soooo slow!  We actually ran an ad in the paper for today and we had 10x more business last Saturday when we didn't even advertise!  So we closed up shop early and headed to the beach.  Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me so I didn't get any pictures :( But we had a great night and topped it off with Kathy's Drive Inn for Dinner!  It used to be our A & W and after that went out of business, Kathy took over but its just as good!

I'm so excited that the weather is finally hot and we are enjoying it to the fullest!

Swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's House
Nakey baby!!!

My Monkey baby!

Trixie was such a trooper as Bryleigh loved up on her!

Getting the boat ready to take out for the year

Check out those flushed cheeks...that means its finally hot out!
We have had one exhausting but fun weekend so far! The kids have been going to bed quite early the last couple of nights!
Oh the places and positions that kids can sleep in when they are over tired!
